Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Fishbowl, the task app at decidebetterdaily.com ("the app"), operated by Decide Better Daily (contact: decidebetterdaily@gmail.com) ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Fishbowl is
Fishbowl is a web app that stores your tasks, picks one for you to work on, and records how long tasks take. It is currently provided free of charge. We may add optional paid features in the future; if we do, separate terms and prices will be shown to you before you buy anything, including your statutory right of withdrawal.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the app.
- The app creates an anonymous account for you automatically. You may upgrade it to a named account with an email address or a Google account. One person, one account.
- Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account panel in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
3. Your content
The tasks and other content you enter remain yours. You grant us the right to store, process and display them to the extent needed to run the app and, in pseudonymous form, to improve it, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export everything from the Account panel at any time.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to store or transmit content that is illegal, or that infringes the rights of others; do not try to access other users' data, interfere with the service, circumvent its security, or use automated means to overload it. Do not resell or repackage the app.
5. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Fishbowl available and your data safe, but the app is provided "as is". We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change, add or remove features at any time. We recommend exporting your data from time to time. If we ever decide to discontinue the app, we will announce it in the app at least 30 days in advance so you can export your data.
6. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, in particular Section 4, or that is used in a way that harms the service or other users. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you the opportunity to export your data.
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely), and then only for foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Any further liability is excluded. Because the app is provided free of charge, the statutory limitations for gratuitous services also apply.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will show a notice in the app before material changes take effect. If you continue to use the app after that date, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by German law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country. The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
